Choosing Religious Virtues

- March 09, 2006

Our moral excellence, righteousness, goodness and ethical standards are virtues we must learn by example in our growing environment, through time and patience. - Our drive for growth, education and our sense of curiosity motivates us to seek answers to countless questions we have always had about self, life and the world in which we live. - Absolutely no one is born with virtue, wisdom and built in knowledge of any kind. Only through time and patience we acquire virtue, knowledge and wisdom to evolve.

When any one of us is born, we are not automatically rewarded with a doctored diploma, or a law degree, just because of our parent's achievements, having worked hard, studied and earned the said diplomas, or degrees. - Therefore being born in the family of educated individuals, rightfully so, does not entitle anybody to receive unearned diplomas, or degrees, the social and economic privileges associated therein. No one has ever been rewarded a diploma, or degree because of their parents by the virtue of birth; therefore if we are born in a Christian family we should not be branded a Christian person automatically.

Another words just because your mother, or your father was a doctor, you will not automatically become a doctor, right after birth, therefore just because your parents were followers of any faith that does not mean you should be too. At least you should read the true history of that religion, its manuals, and reflect on them before surrendering your soul, sense of self and conform to it.

Religious doctrines are the most costly and demanding in terms of human life and treasure, and yet we blindly accept and acknowledge these antiquated medieval texts written thousands of years ago by men who preferred the most primitive sate of being, lived in the company of other men and goats in caves, just because we were born into it. Ninety-nine present of people who feel compelled to believe in a religion do not even bother to read their religious manual.

Philosophy, spirituality and religion are of course necessary knowledge, which should constantly be updated. The antiquated medieval religious texts, or any other text subject written thousands of years ago are completely irrelevant in today's world and will not work today. All subjects in all categories are always under constant scrutiny, examination and observation. At least once per decade most of the scientific books are rewritten and updated. These simple laws of scrutiny, examination and observation must also be applied to philosophy, spirituality and religious beliefs.

There are only two ways of spreading the light of truth and hope, either to be the source of light, truth and hope, the projector, or be the mirror that spreads and reflects the light of truth and hope to others, which one are you?

Sincerely,

- - Those who profess to favor freedom and yet depreciate agitation, are people who want crops without ploughing the ground; they want rain without thunder and lightning; they want the ocean without the roar of its many waters. The struggle may be a moral one, or it may be a physical one, or it may be both. But it must be a struggle. Power concedes nothing without a demand; it never has and it never will. - - Frederick Douglass
